Last Round Of Videos

Though I’ve uploaded these a few days ago, here’s the post showing them off. These mark the last of my videos I was able to upload. Are there more to upload…yes but only a few. Guess we won’t see them until the end of the deployment.

For now, we are all back at Fort Dix, NJ. Not much happening save for some minor training here and there. Basically we’re awaiting to ship out to Kuwait. When? Beats the shit out of me. Will probably find out last minute. Tight lip and all which is understandable. All I do know is we are having a friends and family day this Saturday on the 10th. For one last day any friends and family can come down to visit us and say their final goodbye. :)

Without any more delay…enjoy the videos!

Everyone talking before they head out on mission.

Wallace attempts to dance with his M4.

Our own music video to Vanilla Ice. Funny!

While celebrating Kov’s BDay, he sucks down a bunch of helium from a balloon.

Rhoad’s stresses out about a task of writing up a PMCS table.

Everyone learns about Krammes’s ability to kick himself in the head….Literally!

A completely random taping. This one is actually from Fort Dix.

I finally figured out how to get the videos from the company issue camcorder working. The fix is was rather simple and kind of stupid but hey if it works…it works. Unfortunately the quality of the videos is not great. Infact, my own digital camera takes better shots. Oh well. Still managed to get some good vids. Enjoy!

Gumby complains about his gay phone.

Rhoad’s was in a motorcycle crash just before mobilization. This is shows some of the damage.

Just a short random clip from within the stryker.

While sitting on the back of a moving stryker, I almost drop the video camera.

Randomly shooting the guys talking, here the subject hits about getting a field fuck.

Just another random shooting of the soldiers.

A bit long, I just walk around while the guys eat some chow. Some interesting things occur.

Here’s the next batch of videos. These are from Camp Shelby. Enjoy!

This heat trainer helps teach soldiers how to escape from a rolled vehicle. The “humvee” can rotate freely 360 degrees.

This shows what its like from on the inside of the heat trainer. At the end, everyone “floats up” since the camera is still dangling upside.

This video game is suppose to help soldiers get better out shooting the M240B. Its just like Duck Hunt except a big ass screen and a machine gun.

50 Cal firing from on top the Stryker.

You can read all about my Camp Shelby exploits here. There’s quite a few posts since it was 3 weeks long. To make everything easier for the readers, I’ve broken up the videos per week. This post will cover the remaining week 2 videos as well as the only week 3 video. This marks the final video post from Camp Shelby.  Hooray!!!  You can see all my Camp Shelby videos at YouTube. If you would like to see them in higher quality or download the original, check out my new Vimeo page.  Not all of them are there…yet.

Slip and sliding in the rain!! Sick of the rain, we finally went out and acted like idiots. We also did some combatives in the puddle. A bit long, but entertaining.

A short clip continuing from the above. Shows me doing a belly flop in the puddle. Quality is bad because it came from a cell phone.

No surprise, another rain storm. Just a few of us hiding out in the stryker waiting for it to pass.

Riding on the back of an ICV Stryker.

Team enters a building to clear it. This was a practice run with blanks before going in live. Unfortunately I couldn’t follow behind.

Sick of the hundreds of frogs croaking at night, Wallace attempts to scare them off. Everyone used their rifle flash lights to illuminate Wallace, hence the “Don’t flag your buddy joke” (aka – Don’t point your barrel at your buddy).

You can read all about my Camp Shelby exploits here. There’s quite a few posts since it was 3 weeks long. To make everything easier for the readers, I’ve broken up the videos per week. This post will cover those taken during the second week of AT. Unfortunately I have something like 16 vids for this week, so I only posted 6 more.  You can see all my Camp Shelby videos here. Note it will include all the videos from each week.

A drive through the motor pool. Can see many different types of Strykers, including the hard to find MSG.

Charlie company practices moving forward and back for the live fire range. On the range you are back in a ditch for concealment. You have to move forward to engage the target. Have roughly 9 secs to complete all that.

Short clip of us convoying through a dirt road.

To further expand on a previous vid, here’s a 270 degree view from the driver’s seat.

Example of the almost daily rain storms we trained in.

How the RWS moves during boot up.

The instructors demonstrate how they want us to clear the rooms. They were very specific since we would later be conducting this with live ammo. They wanted complete control for safety reasons.

Practicing assaulting on line. Here the team leader didn’t keep his guys on line to well. Also helps teach covering your buddy when they go down.

We play a practical joke on Witman with a condom. LoL.

We practice crossing a linear danger area (aka road). The vocal “bang, bang” you here is because the overwatch ran out of ammo.

Another vid of crossing a linear danger area (aka road). Here the instructor throws the team for a loop by having one man go down. You can also glimpse the sniper firing the AK47 in the background with this one.

We finally received an M203 attached to an M4. Here’s a little walk around close up.

Had a practice class on throwing grenades. Pretty basic right? One guy provides cover while the other throws.

Had a practice run with IMT. This was the first time running around in our new armor. Total gear weight is about 45lbs. It was +90 degrees and near 100% humidity that day.

Dominguez attempts for the first time, sticking in a needle and hooking up an IV. That’s actually my arm. The other was filming. ;) The vid is a little long and taken at dusk. Unfortunately YouTube really darkened the video.

Another vid of giving an IV. This time, the needle misses twice.
